What is Terrazzo and why is it so valued?

Terrazzo Floor Restoration-01

For ages, many people had used the Terrazzo Floor Polishing service. However, when Venetian marble workers discovered the method in the 15th century as a low-cost flooring material, they did not entirely know terrazzo‘s sources at that time. So the craftsmen would use extra Marble pieces placed into the clay on the patios throughout the existing parts. These chips can be big or tiny; anything leftover was not misused but used to produce these delicate facades. In addition, goat’s milk was utilized as the “sealer” to save the wet and marble-like appearance. Today these marble chips, which are small in size, are placed in a mixture of cement or even with other natural stones. Cases have to be with the pieces to create a multi-colored and multi-textured floor exterior. Archeology has found that the Terrazzo Floor Repair is early than Neolithic buildings as far back as 8,000 BC in eastern Turkey. The method was modified; however, this long-lasting, beautiful surface was found when Pompeii was still shoveled.

In the Mid Modern architecture design years from 1930 to the 1960s, particularly in Southern Florida and other parts of the countryside, this flooring was used as a design element by the architects of the day. They were using natural materials, such as stone was supposed to be the floors of the day. Unknowingly suitable for the situation, these floors were an excellent choice for Southern Florida homes. Sadly, the extensive Terrazzo Floor Polishing “cover-up” in the 1970s when rug and other flooring materials grew solid and affordable, these old floors were closed and ignored. With the resurgence of these wonderful floors that have been revealed and require restoring, Terrazzo Floor Restoration has been Grinding and Polishing Terrazzo Floor back to its original beauty, bringing back Terrazzo‘s original plan for use in the Southern Mid Modern home.
